AdBrite: The Internet’s Ad Marketplace

Payment Amount

Adbrite’s payment scheme works in a somewhat different manner to Adsense. AdBrite allows advertisers to choose which site they would like their ads placed on. This allows for a competitive market place to set the worth of ads on your site. This is great if you have a large site, delivering content to thousands of viewers a day – meaning that in the marketplace, hundreds of advertisers will be bidding high to get their ads on your site. However, if you run a small, low traffic website, advertisers will be less interested in your site in general – meaning less bids, and lower cost-per-click ads. They also offer network ads, this is similar to Google’s Adsense network, however the cost-per-click for these ads is very low. I would recommend AdBrite to any publisher with a large user driven site.

Payment Methods

AdBrite pay via check, with the minimum payout being $5. They use the term net-60 payout to describe how often you will get paid. Basically this means that your earnings must sit there for two months before they will send a check your way. So if you’re looking to see your hard work turn into cold hard cash quickly, I’d suggest another publisher program.

Statistics Given

AdBrite ads can be setup as individual banners, allowing the user to keep track of each one and view statistics regarding each area of their site. AdBrite display the amount of times the ad banner was viewed, the amount of clicks, and the amount of revenue earned from that ad banner (you can select any time frame you wish to display earnings over a given period of time).

Design and Ad Layout

Ad layouts are very simple with AdBrite, you can either show text ads (a text headline, with a link underneath) or image ads (just a hot linked image). They allow the publisher to create ads in many different sizes, and are easily customizable to your website. AdBrite also allow users to make interstitials – these show another page or ad in a frame, before re-directing the user back to your website. Recently they have begun to offer InLine ads, these are basically text boxes that appear when certain words are selected via the users mouse.
